Pikeynet reviews~ Die Swaenne
Area: Brugge, Belgium
Price guide: £250/night
Comment
The staff here are so very friendly, the interior
is rather bohemian and funky with a stunning lounge and old bar area. The room
was large and split into 3 areas of a gorgeous bedroom, dining table area and a
lounge area - all with a nice view over the canal.
They have another building opposite, over the canal, for accommodation, car
parking and also an outside café. It seems quite pleasant though we stayed in
the main building.
The evening meal was good, perhaps very good but didn't justify the price. It
was ambitious and experimental, but just didn't really work. The service was
poor to a humorous level - but you can't exactly get mad at a 15 yr old kid
who's trying! We've been fortunate enough to eat at quite a lot of exceptional
places during this holiday and although the price was the same (ie. expensive),
the meal was certainly not in the exceptional / stunning / incredible category.
We did like Brugges and particularly this hotel. We are likely to go back,
though wouldn't eat in the restaurant. The city has many lovely looking
restaurants and I think we'll chose one of those in the future.
